In Malaysia,  Bon Odori Festivals are also celebrated every year in Penang and at the Matsushita Corp Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor. In comparison to the celebrations in Japan, the festival is celebrated on a much smaller scale with more emphasis on Japanese culture. This year was the 36th time it was organized and I happened to have the chance to bring my family to the event. And of course I brought along my trustee Canon 🙂

Yesterday was declared as public holiday in conjunction with the installation of Malaysia’s new YDP Agung. We took the time to travel all the way to Sungai Besar for a lunch at a famous restaurant that served rare meats. But that’s a story for another time. On our way back, we stopped at Sekinchan, a famous spot for KL photog to capture paddy field landscape nearby. The place itself claimed as the rice bowl for Selangor. My wife’s home town is in Alor Star, but we rarely have the chance to snap landscape there. So here it goes.

We had a small makan-makan today sponsored by our boss. Well, I guess because we survived another year. I took this opportunity to try some portrait snaps.

this one shot of me is by my boss.

I’m starting of with my snaps of various elements in our daily life. I love to take simple things in our everyday life that often the beauty in it we miss. These groups of photos were taken in various places in Putrajaya, during one of my outings with my wife and young Irfan.

Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.
